A council meets every first Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. in the Lions Club building on Mo. 64. The public always is welcome.

The 130th annual Old Settlers Reunion, also known as the Louisburg Picnic, will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 15-17, at the picnic grounds in Louisburg. The event will include activities for all ages. Music, sponsored by O'Bannon Banking Co., starts at 7:30 p.m. each night.

The 131st annual Old Settlers Reunion, also known as the Louisburg Picnic, kicks off Thursday, July 14, and continues Friday, July 15, and Saturday, July 16, at the picnic grounds in Louisburg. The event is organized by the Louisburg Lions Club. Young and old alike are invited to attend, as there will be something for everyone.

Joyner Park was developed using a generous 32 acre donation of land from Mr. Carroll Joyner, and a North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund grant. The facility includes a 2/5 of a mile paved walking trail, a 1.5 mile natural trail, a 100 yard soccer field, a wonderful playground area for all ages, and two spacious picnic shelters.
