Located on MN-210 off I35, Jay Cooke State Park is easy to find just 1.4 miles from Carlton. The park is less than 20 miles from Duluth to the northeast, which is a large port city on Lake Superior. You can stop here and see the 1905 Aerial Lift Bridge or walk along the Lakewalk Trail in Canal Park. On your way, stop in at Pattison State Park.

Jay Cooke State Park is located just south of Duluth, in Carlton, Minnesota. It's about 2 ยฝ hours north of Minneapolis and Saint Paul by car. It's also possible to bike to the park using the Willard Munger State Trail, although that will take considerably longer. Hinckley makes a good starting point for a bicycle tour.
