9 vegan_cookies5 • 3 yr. ago I would actually go bugbear, since they start with an additional 5 foot reach, so 15ft reach on top of your 10x10 space. I would start with 17 strength and pick up PAM at 4 and max out strength by 8 and GWM or sentinel at the next asi.

Polearm master totally wasted .. oh you where in the same county, no opportunity attack for you. Reply reply. Here is a build of a bugbear with a halberd; no fancy multiclassing, just pure barbarian. The halberd+bugbear+lvl 14 (and raging), gives a total reach of 25'.

Now it's the enemies turn, when the enemy approaches to 5 feet the bugbear gets an attack of opportunity, since an enemy enters his range of 5 feet with a spear.
