The natural swimming hole WHAT TO EXPECT AT KILLEN FALLS BYRON BAY There is no entrance fee to access the falls, so park your car in the parking lot and follow the signs down to the waterfall. As you begin the walk down the trail, the path will fork off to the left where you can find a wooden viewing platform that overlooks the falls from above.

Killen Falls is located just downstream from the Emigrant Creek Dam in the Killen Falls Public Reserve. There is a swimming hole and an rocky overhang which creates a small cave. It's a really beautiful location with towering rocky cliffs surrounding the waterhole.

It's a 330m walk through the lush forest from the car park to the top of the falls, where you're rewarded with a bird's-eye view down into the pool below. Take the steep and sometimes slippery (but not too challenging) walk down to the base of the falls to see them from a whole new angle. Keep an eye out for turtles, birds and other wildlife.
