We climbed the tower in 2000, when our kids were 12 and 10, and we all enjoyed it. I think it's one of those tourist trap activities that are worth the hype. We didn't find much else interesting in Pisa, though, and just continued on to Lucca, where we spent two nights --- highly recommend this walled town.
