Bowenville Reserve FREE CAMPING, Wainui QLD. The Dalby region (near Toowoomba) offers a massive Free Camping area at Bowenville Reserve, which sits alongside Oakey Creek. You'll find it just 9km off the Warrego Highway in Bowenville and about 30km south-east of Dalby itself. Onsite are flushing toilets, rubbish bins and a small playground.

One of the most well known spots is Chinchilla Weir on the Condamine River, where we stopped in for lunch. At the time, upgrades to the new camping area were still under construction and they opened mid July.

The Chinchilla Weir camping area is really lovely campground at the edge of the dam/weir. There are flushing toilets and free power for some sites. There is also a beautiful new covered area overlooking the dam. A great spot to stay overnight or for a couple of days.

Get to know this 10.6-mile point-to-point trail near Túrkeve, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 4 h 25 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking, running, and bike touring, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime.

Camping at Chinchilla Weir is free for a maximum of 2 nights but donations to help with the costs of providing the power and general upkeep of the camping area are greatly appreciated and can be left at the Chinchilla Visitors Information Centre. There is some mobile phone service (depending on your carrier) and television reception here.

The Chinchilla Weir Free Camping Area has a 48 Hour Limit for overnight camping. There are public toilets free electric BBQ's, some picnic tables and rubbish bins. The dam is stocked with good size fish, and it's a good place to wet the bottom of your kayak. Note: Power is available for a small fee, pay at the info centre.
